Summer is upon us, and wether we have had too much sun, sunscreen, or too much eating and drinking, our skin can start to show to signs of wear and tear. Begging to be detoxed, our faces may have become red, showing signs of sun spots or pimples, or even clogged pores.
Activated charcoal is made specifically for medicinal uses. Many people use it internally to help with upset stomach, nausea or gas. Topically it acts like a magnet to draw out pore clogging impurities, letting the skin breathe and helps to remove uneven patches.
Lemon Juice is an excellent choice for acne, blemishes and oily skin. Citrus also works as an antioxidant, meaning that it helps protect the skin from free radicals, and speeds up skin regeneration. Lemon juice can also reduce dark spots, and lighten skin tone.
Green tea is full of antioxidants and phytochemicals. It helps in preventing fine lines and wrinkles and is a natural UV protector.
Raw Honey is a natural antioxidant and antibacterial so it will help heal and prevent formation of new pimples. Honey also helps keep the skin soft, smooth, and glowing.
*Take 1 teaspoon of organic brewed green tea (slightly warm so the honey can mix easier) 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon of raw honey and open two capsules of activated charcoal.
* Mix ingredients well and with the help of a cotton ball or a facial mask brush apply all over to cleansed face, avoiding eye area. Let it sit on your face for about 10 minutes. Rinse with cool water and pat dry.
*Side note, these ingredients would also work well as an internal beverage, healing the skin from the inside out, just mix ingredients into a full cup of green tea!
