Who doesn’t love popsicles? There’s something so nostalgic and playful about them. We love a good ‘health-over’ of a classic and when you can sneakily squeeze goodness into something that still tastes so good…why not?! Kamila from Our Holistic Haven shares her healthy popsicle recipe with us below.
When antioxidant rich matcha meets THE one and only butter fruit (aka avocado) you get a matcha made in heaven 😉 These popsicles are the perfect summer accompaniment; refreshing and tantalizing on the tastebuds. Plus, not only are these creamy, dreamy popsicles the perfect healthy treat (for adults and kids alike!) but they boast a range of nutritional benefits which makes them even better.
Matcha is abundant in chlorophyl, vitamins and boosts metabolism.
Avocado is a powerhouse in and of itself, providing vitamin K, folate and vitamin b5 which is needed to break down carbs, and has twice the potassium of a banana. And that’s just to name a few of the health benefits!
Paired with the anti-fungal goodness of raw honey and the triple threat that is coconut, bringing the fibre + protein + nourishing fats which takes these popsicles to the next level.
1 tsp matcha
1/2 an avocado
1 tbsp coconut manna or coconut butter
1 tsp raw honey
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup water
Blend and fill your popsicle molds. Freeze.
** Note: The quantities highlighted in this recipe made 3 and a bit, so I added a strawberry + raspberry + coconut water puree to top off the “bit”, you can add whatever fruit floats your boat! Mango would be another delicious, refreshing addition!
