An easy peezy cauliflower pizza crust recipe to fuel body+mind+soul.
Kale’s cruciferous soul sister cauliflower has become quite popular lately and is the superstar of so many recipes out there. And it’s no wonder as cauliflower is high in vitamins C and A, abundant in antioxidants. What’s more, being a member of the brassica veggie family, cauliflower brings a large dose of phenolic compounds, which are know for their cancer preventative qualities!
As we aim to keep our recipes super simple, here’s our take on the cauli pizza crust craze.
Ghee or avocado oil
Ground flax seed or psyllium husk
Preheat oven to 350. 1 cup grated or processed cauli, (drain through a nut milk bag to get rid of all the cauli water) + 1.5 cups almond flour + 1.5 tbsp ghee or avo oil + 2 tbsp ground flax seed or psyllium husk with 6 tbsp warm water (let sit 5 min to thicken) + 1 tbsp Italian seasoning + 1/2 tsp Himalayan sea salt (taste test dough to see if more is needed as per your taste) + 1 clove garlic minced.
Knead into a dough wetting hands as you go so dough doesn’t stick to your hands. Press into parchment paper lined baking dish and pop into oven. Bake for 20 minutes (or more depending on how thick you go, we go super thin). Pop on toppings and put back in oven until toppings are to your liking
Topped ours with garlicky basil & parsley+hemp pesto, kale, sundried tomatoes and capers, cashew cheese, grape tomatoes and zucchini!
