In a world where we are bombarded with information, opinions, hot topics, latest trends and live in a place where everyone you meet claims to be an expert, who do you trust? Who do you believe? What’s right and what’s wrong?
We are all individuals made up of our own unique traits, habits and talents that we have learned and developed over the course of your lives. Although our genes define the initial direction of our journey, the information we receive and how we choose to apply this into our lives inevitably defines who we are.
Do you ever find yourself questioning if you’re doing things “right”? I often hear people confused by what they should eat, how much they should eat, what kind of exercise works best, what parenting style is best, what career path you should take, areas in your life that others don’t like or agree with. It’s common for these questions to run though our heads daily.
Something I recently learned was that by changing our perception on how we interpret our thoughts can lead to us being more present, broadening our minds and creating new space in our lives for opportunities to emerge.
A few tips…
- Welcome new information but do your own research before you make change
- Questioning yourself, your thoughts, attitudes, values and beliefs is absolutely a good thing (this is how we grow and evolve)
- You are on your own unique journey and only you know what is best for you. There’s no need to compare yourself to others
- Seek advice from those around you who do provide credible information that may help you to clarify unanswered questions or concerns (a personal trainer, a counselor, a doctor, a spiritual healer, a financial expert or professional from another field could be a good place to start)
Hi! I’m Ashleigh. I hail from the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland. My posts are inspired by my personal wellness journey and I open up this space as somewhere to share my knowledge and help you to create the best possible version of you. I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I have been trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. My blog has evolved just as I have evolved as a person since it’s creation in 2012. I chose to adopt a vegan lifestyle in April 2014. Previous (non-vegan) posts still exist on this page as I believe people who choose to live different lifestyles to me can still benefit from this information.
