Jenny’s Vegan Balls

Vegan Balls Recipe

Whether it be as a snack or a healthy ‘dessert’ option, these balls are packed with protein and good fats and really are so easy to make!


1/2 cup dates 

1 1/2 cups raw cashews (soaked overnight if there is time) 

1/4 cup any nut butter (I use almond since I already use whole cashews) 

1 large scoop vegan protein powder (I’m really into vega vanilla flavored right now) 

1 tbsp coconut oil

1 tsp vanilla extract

Everything goes into a food processor, processed until almost smooth and then molded into whatever size or shape you like. I usually go for a diameter the size of a quarter. 

Additional additives: 

Cacao nibs

Chia seeds

Flax seeds

Hemp seeds



Coconut flakes

Dried fruit

Agave nectar 

Maple syrup 

The base of the recipe is stolen from my little sister Christina who runs the blog the Beautiful Balance, I asked her for an easy snack recipe one day.  The great thing about these is the ability to personalize them. If you stick with the basic ratios in the base you can really add or substitute whatever you want to suit your tastes. I go to whole foods and stock up in the bulk section, so most of the time I’m just throwing In whatever I have on hand.  One of my favorite combos I’ve done so far I called them Horchata balls after the Mexican rice drink.  I made the base and added chia seeds, cinnamon, extra vanilla extract, and agave, and then you just sit back and let the Boca fiesta begin.
