Beet + Licorice Bowl

Beetroot and Licorice Bowl Recipe
This smoothie bowl with beet and currants is my long time favourite, I like twisting it up with some new spices or boosters every once in a while. At the moment I love this version with licorice root and ashwagandha. Licorice gives the bowl a sweet (almost candy-like) taste and it’s also a natural immune booster and stress reliever. I also often mix licorice with just hot water to make a delicious tea…Ashwagandha is another adaptogenic herb that has been used in ayurveda for several purposes like fighting fatigue and stress.

Beet + Licorice Bowl
1  large banana
2 dl frozen black or red currants (or you could use even cranberries if you can’t find currants)
1  medium beetroot, steamed and cubed
1 1/2 dl  organic yogurt or plant yogurt
1/4 tsp  licorice root powder
1/2 tsp  ashwagandha (optional)
Blend ingredients until they are a thick, creamy consistency. Serve and enjoy!

1 dl equals to 100 ml.
